Compliance for retail bank chain.
IE undertook full energy audits on newly created retail banking with follow on of ESOS compliance.
Introduction
IE had previously deliver energy audits and advice to this leading new retail banking group in order to help them better understand how their new store roll out programme could be improved in terms of energy efficiency. As the requirement for ESOS came along these audits were able to adapted and added to in order to deliver compliance in a highly cost effective and valuable way that has driven change in the organisation.
What we did
IE worked with a leading energy broker to provide full energy management services to their clients and through this offered an ESOS solution to all their clients that fell in scope. A leading new retail banking group found this ESOS offer from their energy brokers to be appealing and allowed for issues around obtaining energy data for ESOS compliance to be managed by one party. IE provided complete ESOS compliance.
IE had already undertaken 3 energy audits for this client prior to ESOS but used and adapted these as well as adding two further surveys to deliver full ESOS compliance services including reviewing all energy data, identifying de-minimus areas (transport), undertaking all necessary site energy audits, providing all required reports including group report and making final signed off submission to the EA before the compliance deadline.
IE followed up with post ESOS meetings and these resulted in a significant LED lighting retrofit project as well design changes being made to the retail banking role out programme as to deliver energy savings. With an aggressive store opening programme of running into the hundreds the legacy of this advice will endure well into the future.
“It was immensely satisfying to deliver a recommendation presentation after completion of this project and learn that our advice had resulted in a major re-lamping scheme and several other energy saving projects being implemented as well as being the catalyst for changes and improvements in new store design.”
