IE provided full ESOS compliance for 3 large Catholic Diocese with over 30 audits of church buildings delivering energy saving advice suitable for church and listed buildings.

Introduction

Under ESOS, the Dioceses required a compliance service that could accommodate their large estates, of thousands of parish buildings, and to provide energy savings advice that was sympathetic to church and listed buildings.
Through its extensive ecclesiastical and listed building experienced IE was able to demonstrate the knowledge, experience and approach needed to provide a complete ESOS service to these Dioceses in a best value and meaningful way. IE were therefore awarded the contract through the Dioceses energy broker. As well as the ESOS audits, IE provided energy savings advice for future plans for parishes which has already resulted in two parishes installing energy saving measures.

What we did
IE delivered compliant ESOS energy audits and all the required energy data collection and analysis for these three diocese which had between then over 2000 properties. Over 30 audits were completed on a range of buildings from Grade I listed to modern offices and full ESOS compliance was delivered well within the legislative deadline.
The ESOS project covered over 600 parish sites as well as a number of other buildings including the cathedrals. Within one Diocese alone this identified savings of £945,000 that could be made and pay back in 2.89 years and save 42% of the total energy use in the diocese.
